HO CHI MINH CITY, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Over 400 athletes from 26 countries and regions will compete at an international badminton tournament which will be held on Aug. 7-12 in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City, the municipal Department of Culture and Sports announced Tuesday.
The badminton players include Brazilian man Ygor Coelho, who ranks the 34th in the world, Malaysian man Daren Liew (the 41st), Vietnamese man Nguyen Tien Minh (the 55th), Japanese woman Savaka Takahashi (the 12th), and Japanese female duo Avako Sakuramoto - Yukiko Takahata (the 14th).
The tournament, named Yonex - Sunrise Vietnam Open 2018, will have total cash prizes of 75,000 U.S. dollars.
