JAKARTA, July 26 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia is aiming to seize one title in the upcoming BWF World Championships slated for July 30 to August 5 in China's Nanjing.
Indonesia has targeted a win in the tournament, the Indonesian team manager for the upcoming international tournament Susi Susanti said.
"Without belittling the singles group, the most chance would be in the doubles group. But above it all, our shuttlers in all groups have a responsibility [to win]," Susanti told a press conference at the Indonesian Badminton Association's (PBSI) training center.
Susanti, the badminton gold medalist at the 1992 Olympics, said the Indonesian team is well prepared for the tournament. Indonesia will send their 29 best shuttlers to the event. The group is scheduled to depart for Nanjing on Saturday.
PBSI Secretary General Ahmad Budiharto said Indonesia would not send its best mixed doubles (XD) pairing Tontowi Ahmad/Lilyana Natsir to the tournament. However he was optimistic about winning a title at the tournament.
