Aerial photo taken on Jan. 8, 2020 shows Qian Fuwang (R) and his wife Wang Xinling on the way to maintaining railway tunnels in Foyu section in north China's Shanxi Province. Qian Fuwang and his wife Wang Xinling work for Foyu section of China Railway Taiyuan Group Co., Ltd. From October to February of the next year, due to low temperature, water infiltration in tunnels may lead to hanging ice, posing a threat to transportation safe. Hence, the couple' main job is to remove ice hanging on the wall of tunnels. To eradicate potential danger, the couple conduct 3 maintenance each day and patrol a distance of more than 12 kilometers. During the past 30 years, the couple have made wonderful teammates, with Qian carrying equipment and Wang checking the frozen conditions. Dull and humdrum, the job requires concentration and elaborate efforts. The couple keep tacit silence during work time and only chat after returning to their resting lounge. Wang Xinling will soon retire after the upcoming Spring Festival travel rush. However, she wants to stay in the position to accompany her husband. "It has been pretty much a routine to be with him patrolling the railway, and we are contented as long as people will travel safe home," she said. (Xinhua/Cao Yang)
