Themed on ancient Chinese poems, the 60 pieces of works by young Chinese calligraphers provide a glimpse into the beauty of Chinese characters.
VILNIUS, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- A calligraphy exhibition from China kicked off in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, on Friday, providing a glimpse into the beauty of Chinese characters.
Held at the ARKA gallery, the exhibition "Ancient Wisdom of Today's Interpretation: The Beauty of Chinese Characters" displays 60 pieces of works by some contemporary young Chinese calligraphers.

Milda, a visitor, who once studied Chinese in China, told Xinhua in Chinese that she was so happy to visit the exhibition and enjoyed much.
According to the organizers, the exhibition features the calligraphy works themed on ancient Chinese poems and written in various styles.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Lithuania Shen Zhifei wished that the exhibition will make new contribution to the friendship of the two peoples and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
The exhibition will last until Oct. 14.■
