HANGZHOU, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Typhoon Mitag made landfall in east China's Zhejiang Province on Tuesday night, packing winds of up to 108 km per hour at its eye, the provincial meteorological observatory said.
The typhoon, the 18th of the year, hit land in Putuo District, Zhoushan City at around 8:30 p.m., it added.
A total of 18,741 fishing boats in the province had returned to port or taken shelter in safe waters as of Tuesday morning.
