YOGYAKARTA, Indonesia, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- China will play Japan to vie for the women's team crown in the evening after their respective 3-0 victories in the semifinals of the 2019 Asian Table Tennis Championship here on Tuesday.
At Among Raga Sports Hall, Cheng Meng won the first match for China, beating Singaporean Lin Ye 3-1. Wang Manyu downed Goi Rui Xuan 3-0 in the second match.
Ding Ning sealed the victory for China winning the first two games before her Singaporean peer Feng Tianwei abandoned the third game due to injury.
In the other semifinal, Japan beat Chinese Taipei 3-0.
Rui Hirano lost the first game but won the match 3-1 over Chen Szu-Yu. Kasumi Ishikawa had an easy 3-0 win over Cheng Hsien-Tzu, and Hitomi Sato took three games to nil against Liu Hsin-Yin.
En route to the final, China beat DPR Korea 3-0 in the quarterfinals on Sunday while Japan downed Thailand 3-0 on Monday.
The biennial championship featured 249 players from 34 countries and regions from September 15 to 22.
