BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition showcasing the achievements in poverty alleviation opened in Beijing on Friday.
Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the working committee for central and state organs, attended the opening ceremony of the event and explored the exhibits.
The exhibition, hosted by the working committee for central and state organs, features the central and state organs' contributions to the country's fight against poverty.
Since the 18th CPC National Congress, central and state organs have dispatched 1,727 officials, invested or introduced 71.37 billion yuan (10.2 billion U.S. dollars), trained about 649,000 officials and technicians working at the primary level, purchased or helped sell 63.67 billion yuan worth of agricultural products, and helped 13 million people shake off poverty.
The exhibition runs until Aug. 21.
