KABUL, June 25 (Xinhua) -- At least 20 armed insurgents were killed and 14 others wounded during separate airstrikes conducted by Afghan air force in south Afghanistan on Monday, Afghan army said in a statement released on Tuesday.
"The air force planes dropped bombs on Taliban's hideout outside Tirinkot, capital of Uruzgan province on Monday, killing at least nine militants," the statement said.
In separate air attacks, according to the statement, 11 militants were killed and 14 others injured in Daychopan district of the neighboring Zabul province on the same day.
Taliban militants have yet to make comment.
