JAKARTA, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian students are expected to dominate the upcoming 2019 ASEAN School Games to be held in the country next month, a minister said.
"With full supports from many spectators, I am sanguine that Indonesian contingent can be the champion," Indonesian Youth and Sport Ministry Imam Nahrawi said on Wednesday night.
The Games, to be held from July 17 to 25 in Semarang city of Central Java province, features nine sports of athletic, badminton, basketball, lawn tennis, table tennis, volleyball, swimming, sepak takraw and Indonesian traditional martial art of pencak silat.
In the 2018 edition in Malaysia, Indonesia secured 31 gold, 36 silver and 31 bronze medals to rank second after the hosts.
