NANNING, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Customs authorities and police in southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have busted a frozen food and cigarette smuggling case and caught 24 suspects.

The gang has allegedly smuggled over 3,000 tonnes of frozen food and 2,000 packs of cigarettes, with a total worth of about 120 million yuan (17 million U. S. dollars), according to Nanning customs.

The smuggled products first arrived at Vietnam through sea freight and then illegally entered China via the ports of Beihai in Guangxi.

The case is under further investigation.
