BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) -- China has launched a major symphony performance tour to showcase the achievements of the Chinese symphony over the past 70 years.
About 15 performances will be staged in cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Qingdao, Harbin, Chengdu and Shenzhen from Sunday to February 2020, displaying 70 outstanding symphonic works by Chinese composers.
Participating orchestras include the China National Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and the symphony orchestra of the Central Conservatory of Music.
A selected repertoire of the show will be published by the People's Music Publishing House.
The publication will be the first part of a two-part thematic publication project, said Mo Yunhui, director of the publishing house.
