BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The Pujiang Innovation Forum will be held in Shanghai from May 24 to 26, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced at a press conference in Beijing Monday.
The forum will explore the future development of science and technology, the impact of technological innovation on the economy and urban development, and the new vision and new future of global technological innovation.
Four special forums and 11 themed seminars will be held along with the opening ceremony and plenary session. About 150 scientists, entrepreneurs and officials from 21 countries were invited to speak at the forum.
The forum will be more international, with foreign guests accounting for about one-third of speakers, according to Zhang Bingqing, a ministry official.
We hope to build a world-class exchange platform for scientific research institutions as well as science and technology talent, Zhang said.
Initiated in 2008, the Pujiang Innovation Forum is an annual event jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the municipal government of Shanghai.
The guest country of honor this year is Singapore.
