BEIRUT, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine will launch a cultural festival in Lebanon on May 8 for two weeks in historic sites in the country, including Beirut, Tripoli, Jbeil, Zahle and Saida, the National News Agency reported.
The festival aims at boosting cultural exchange between Ukraine and Lebanon while enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries.
The purpose of the festival is to present Ukraine with its multifaceted cultural traditions and introduce its best heritage of song, music and fine arts, as a country spiritually close to Lebanon, an official at the Embassy of Ukraine in Lebanon told Xinhua.
Attendants of the festival will be able to get to know better about Ukraine's cultural traditions by listening to their music and enjoying exhibitions on Ukrainian clothes, food, and artists.
The officials said that there are 5,000 Ukrainian women married Lebanese men in Lebanon, and the number of Ukrainians living in Lebanon is higher for sure.
