GABORONE, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Botswana is in the process of procuring state-of-the-art digital television equipment from China to boost viewership and content distribution, a senior official of the southern African country said Friday.
Philip Makgalemele, assistant minister of youth empowerment, sport and culture development, made the remark at the digital migration seminar here in the Botswanan capital city.
The equipment is expected to be delivered to the African country early next year if not in the last quarter of 2019, said Makgalemele.
Early last year, Botswana experienced some technical challenges linked with the procurement and distribution of set-top-boxes, which hampered the much hyped analogue-to-digital migration.
