SHENZHEN, March 13 (Xinhua) -- China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) generated 157.04 billion kilowatt-hours of grid power in 2018, up 14.02 percent, the energy group announced Wednesday.
CGN, the largest nuclear power operator in China, said in its annual report that it had revenue of about 50.83 billion yuan (7.58 billion U.S. dollars) last year, up 11.4 percent.
With two new nuclear power units put into commercial use last year, the number of the company's nuclear power units in operation reached 22, with an installed capacity of 24.31 million kilowatts. A further six units with an installed capacity of 7.43 million kilowatts are under construction.
The No.1 power unit of Taishan nuclear power plant that was linked to grid in June last year was the world's first third-generation European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) nuclear power unit. It will provide valuable experience for the construction of EPR nuclear power units in the world, the report said.
