JAKARTA, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia will send three athletes to compete in the 2019 Malaysian Open Grand Prix later this month, coaching staff revealed here on Tuesday.
The multi-event tournament will be held in Kuala Lumpur's Stadion Bukit Jalil on March 30 and 31.
Indonesia's long jump coach Arya Yuniawan revealed that Muhammad Zohri will take part in the 100 meters, Emilia Nova in the 100 meters hurdles and Sapwaturrahman in the long jump.
Yuniawan added that the tournament would serve as a warm-up event for higher level championships, such as the 2019 SEA Games and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
In addition to the Malaysian Open Grand Prix, the coach added that Indonesian athletes would take part in some more tournaments ahead of this year's SEA Games.
