MAZAR-E-SHARIF, Afghanisan, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- A total of seven militants were confirmed dead and three others sustained injuries after the security forces' fighting aircrafts pounded Taliban positions in Chamtal district of the northern Balkh province on Monday, an army spokesman in the northern region Mohammad Hanif Rezai said Tuesday.
Acting upon a tip-off, the fighting planes targeted the hideouts of the militants in Pul-e-Bangala area of Chamtal district late Monday, killing seven and injuring three Taliban fighters.
The Taliban hasn't made any comment yet.
