BUDAPEST, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Suzhou Chinese Orchestra has presented a concert as part of the Chinese New Year celebration in Hungarian capital of Budapest.
"The Grand Chinese New Year Concert" under the direction of renowned Chinese conductor Pang Kapang was staged in the Palace of Arts (Mupa) Thursday evening.
Pang was named one of China's 10 most talented young conductors in 2014.
The concert won a long time ovation thanks to its perfect integration of musical performance of West and East when a cellist played together with a player of erhu, also known as Chinese two-stringed fiddle.
Established in 2017, the Suzhou Chinese Orchestra has been dedicated to promotion of traditional Chinese culture by integrating Chinese folk music into orchestra performances, and reinterpreting and expressing traditional Chinese music through the symphonic format.
