JAKARTA, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- An Indonesian minister has invited potential Chinese investors to expand value-added investments in Indonesia under the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.
Speaking at a forum attended by representatives of Chinese firms here on Monday, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that projects under the initiative in Indonesia have benefited both sides.
"We have good cooperation through OBOR (Belt and Road) initiative here," Luhut said at the forum organized by Indonesia-China Institution that promotes the Indonesia-China ties in economic, social and cultural fields here.
He said that Chinese investment in Morowali and Weda Bay in Indonesia's Central Sulawesi and Central Maluku provinces have significantly contributed to the government's aim to expand value-added industries in the country.
