In a message on his official Twitter account, Khan condoled with the bereaved families over the loss of precious lives.
"My condolences go to the people of Afghanistan at the great loss of life suffered in the condemnable act of terror in Maidan Wardak province on Monday," the prime minister said, adding that he prayed that peace would return soon to the war-torn neighboring country.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry also condemned the Taliban-claimed deadly attack in Afghanistan.
"Our hearts go out for the bereaved families. We share their grief. Such reprehensible acts vitiate the environment of ongoing efforts for peace," Foreign Ministry spokesman Muhammad Faisal said on his Twitter account.
