SUVA, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- A joint search by police and Fijian Corrections officers is underway for seven prisoners who escaped from Naboro Maximum Prison early Monday morning.
Fijian police have erected road blocks along the Queens Highway in Viti Levu, Fiji's main and largest island.
Anyone with information of their whereabouts is requested to call Crimestoppers Fiji on 919 or their nearest police station as the seven are considered to be dangerous prisoners on the run.
Later November, 12 Fijian police officers were punished for the escape of five remanded prisoners from police custody.
