QALAT, Afghanistan, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 militants loyal to the Taliban group were killed and 16 others wounded, following a government operation in Afghanistan's southern Zabul province, an official said Monday.
National army forces launched a military operation over the last 24 hours in Arghandab district of the province, resulting in the death of 10 Taliban fighters and injury of 16 others, Ahmad Sadeq Isakhil, spokesman of 205-Atal Army Corps said.
The spokesman did not say whether the government forces or civilians suffered casualties in the incident.
Taliban militants have not yet commented on the report.
