BEIRUT, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese caretaker Minister of Education Marwan Hamadeh emphasized Wednesday the need to teach Chinese language in Lebanon, local media reported.
"We need to teach Chinese language in Lebanon especially that China hosts a huge number of Lebanese visitors on an annual basis," he was quoted by the National News Agency as saying.
Hamadeh's remarks came during his meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian with whom he discussed the best means to boost bilateral cooperation between Lebanon and China.
The minister called for developing relations between the two countries, noting that "China is a new horizon for Lebanon."
"Progress and economic growth in China have taken place through cooperation with all countries," Wang said.
