TEHRAN, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Germany's plastics and rubber machinery exports to Iran amounted to only 18.07 million U.S. dollars in the first six months of 2018, a news website reported Wednesday.
The figure registered 30.9 percent decline in value compared with the corresponding period last year, said Eghtesadonline.
Germany's machinery exports to Iran in 2017 stood at 44.58 million dollars.
The decline comes amid U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw Washington in May from the 2015 Iranian international nuclear agreement and re-impose in August economic sanctions on the Islamic republic.
Iran is currently hosting a plastic exhibition in the capital Tehran, which has brought together representatives from 15 countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Cyprus, Belgium, India, Turkey and the Republic of Korea.
The four-day exhibition, which will conclude on Sept. 27, is hailed as the biggest plastic industry event in the Middle East.
