LONDON, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Tottenham forward Lucas Moura was named as the Premier League player of the month for August after an excellent start to the season.
The 26-year-old Brazilian joined Tottenham from Paris Saint Germain at the end of January and made just two starts in the second half of last season.
However, the loss of South Korean forward Heung-Min-Son on international duty at the Asian Games gave Moura the chance to shine at the start of this campaign and so far he has taken his chance with both hands with a goal in his side’s 3-1 win at home to Fulham
He then netted twice as Tottenham won 3-0 away to Manchester United at Old Trafford in a game which saw him given the Man of the Match award.
Watford coach Javi Gracia was named as the Manager of the Month after his side’s best ever start to the campaign.
The Spaniard led his side to wins over Brighton, Burnley and Crystal Palace to make it three wins out of three at the start of the new season in August, while last weekend saw them defeat Tottenham 2-1 to give the North-London club 12 points from a possible 12. Enditem
