BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- With only one place left at the 2018 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship, Brunei and Timor-Leste will go head-to-head in the final leg of their qualification tie at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium here on Saturday.
After a 3-1 loss to Timor-Leste in the first leg on September 1, "Brunei has to play hard for its last chance to qualify," Brunei's Prince Sufri Bolkiah said. He is is also the president of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam.
The 2018 AFF Championship, also known as the 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup, is a biennial football competition organized by the AFF. A total of 10 teams will vie for the trophy from November 8 to December 15.
The winner of the play-off between Brunei and Timor-Leste will join nine other countries - Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos - to make up the final field of 10 nations.
