JAKARTA, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Iran, China, Japan and defending champions Kazakhstan progressed to the final four of the men's water polo at the Asian Games here on Thursday.
In the quarterfinals, Iran beat Saudi Arabia 15-7, China defeated South Korea 12-4, Kazakhstan routed Indonesia 20-4 and Japan thrashed Singapore 28-6.
The semifinal draw sees Iran take on Japan and China face Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will play Singapore and South Korea are to face Indonesia in the 5th-8th place pool.
A total of nine teams are competing in the men's water polo at the 2018 Asian Games. Kazakhstan has won five of the last six titles, including the two most recent editions in 2010 and 2014.
