MOSCOW, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Russia has recorded unidentified helicopters delivering weapons to the Taliban and the Islamic State (IS) units in Afghanistan, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Thursday.
"This is happening near the borders of central Asian countries, while many of the IS militants active in Afghanistan come from those countries," Maria Zakharova said.
According to Zakharova, such flights of unidentified helicopters in northern Afghanistan, which deliver weapons and ammunition to the Taliban and IS, were also seen by the Afghan media and local residents in the northern province of Sar-e-Pol.
The Afghan security agencies, as well as the Command of U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, did not react to those helicopter flights, added the spokeswoman.
