LHASA, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- No casualties have been reported after a magnitude 4.4 earthquake hit southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region Sunday afternoon.
The epicenter, with a depth of 8 km, was monitored in Shuanghu County, Nagqu Prefecture, at 4:18 p.m., according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
With an average elevation of 5,000 meters, the county is located in the hinterland of Tibet and has a large area of glaciers and lakes.
