TEHRAN, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Iranian international football player Ashkan Dejagah has joined Iran's premier league soccer team Tractor Sazi. Dejagah, the former Bundesliga player, signed a three-year contract on Wednesday for an undisclosed fee to play in Iran's northwestern city of Tabriz.
Most recently, the 32-year-old attacking mid-fielder was under contract with the English second division side Nottingham Forrest.
With a new board, Tractor Sazi has invested heavily and brought in Welshman John Toshack as a manager. In addition, the club engaged Masoud Shojaei, the captain of the Iranian national team. He also signed a three-year contract with Tractor Sazi on Wednesday. Mainly an attacking mid-fielder, Shojaei can also play as a winger or a forward.
After playing in his country for two clubs and with Al-Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates between 2000 and 2004, Shojaei went on to spend several seasons in Spain with Osasuna, appearing in 112 official games.
