KARTUZY, Poland, July 7 (Xinhua) -- The Strawberry Picking Festival (Truskawkobranie) held in Zlota Gora, northern Poland, one of the country's largest open-air events, on Saturday attracted thousands of tourists and strawberry lovers.
The event, which has been organized for over 30 years, is a major folk festival gathering farmers from the whole Kartuzy region, a famous strawberry production area.
The main attraction at the event is strawberries in various forms. During the event, strawberry producers present their crops, selling fresh and processed strawberries.
Moreover, the event also features concerts, trade and catering stands, presentations on local traditional culture, and competitions held to honor the best strawberry pie and the largest strawberry, among others.
Zlota Gora, located nearby the Wielkie Brodno lake, is surrounded by strawberry plantations.
