YANGON, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Three people have been killed on the spot with three others injured in a car collision in Myanmar's Mandalay region, said a release from the Home Affairs Ministry Tuesday.
The accident occurred on Mandalay-Mogok highway on Monday, the release said.
With 11 passengers aboard, the Super Custom passenger van travelling from Mogok to Mandalay crashed into the Triple Crown truck parking on the road side in Singu township at 6:45 a.m. local time.
The injured were brought to nearby hospitals.
In the accident, some 36 jade stones and a plastic box filled with 150 small jade fragments were found on the Super Custom van and about seven tons of illegal woods were also seized from the truck.
Investigation on the accident is underway by the local authorities.
