BEIJING, June 8 (Xinhua) -- China has 375 science popularization enterprises, with a combined value of output of around 100 billion yuan (about 15.6 billion U.S. dollars) in 2017, a recent report has showed.
The report by China Research Institute for Science Popularization revealed that most of these enterprises are located in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta region, and provinces such as Guangdong and Anhui. Their businesses include publication, film, television broadcasting, exhibition, and education.
However, most enterprises are small ones in want of technology and talents, according to the report.
The report suggests promoting science popularization by developing sci-fi movies and science-themed tourism.
