SARAJEVO, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Iranian writer-director Asghar Farhadi will be president of the jury of this year's Sarajevo Film Festival, which will take place in August, organizers announced on Tuesday.
"We are proud to announce that one of the most prominent contemporary filmmakers, Iranian writer-director Asghar Farhadi, two times Oscar winner, will preside over the jury of the competition program -- feature Film of the 24th Sarajevo Film Festival," organizers said in a press release.
The festival's audience will also have a chance to see Farhadi's latest film "Everybody knows" which premiered in the competition program of the Cannes Film Festival.
The Sarajevo Film Festival, launched in 1995, has become a leading cultural event in the Balkan region. The 24th Sarajevo Film Festival is scheduled to open on Aug. 10 and run until Aug. 17.
