BEIJING, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese on-demand mobility giant Didi Chuxing has expanded its food delivery service to Nanjing to tap the growing online-to-offline market.
The company's food delivery business, DiDi Foodie, will start operations in the capital city of east China's Jiangsu Province, on June 1, DiDi said in a statement.
Nanjing is the second city to enjoy the service. DiDi debuted the food delivery business in April in Wuxi, an affluent city close to Shanghai.
Industrial data showed that China's food delivery market volume reached about 204.6 billion yuan (32.04 billion U.S. dollars) last year, up 23 percent year on year. It is expected to reach 400 billion yuan this year.
