BEILUN, China, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Jiang Chuan notched game-high 23 points to empower China to crash Argentina 3-0 in the men's volleyball nations league here on Saturday.
Jiang had 20 kills, two blocks and one ace and Ji Daoshuai added nine points as the Chinese took the 25-22, 25-21 and 25-18 victory following their opening 3-2 defeat to Bulgaria on Friday.
As well as the attack, led superbly by Jiang, the Chinese defense strengthened with nine blocks overall compared to just two from Argentina.
Tomas Lopez led Argentina with 10 points with Ezequiel Palacios and Bruno Lima adding nine and eight respectively.
Earlier on Saturday, the United States beat Bulgaria 3-1 by 25-19, 22-25, 25-19 and 25-20 for their second straight win here.
China will play the United States on Sunday as Bulgaria are to take on Argentina.
