KIGALI, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Rwanda's Rayon Sports football team on Sunday held a 1-1 draw against Kenya's Gor Mahia in a match of CAF Confederation Cup Group D played at a fully packed stadium in Kigali, capital city of Rwanda.
It was a tough game with both teams searching for goals. Meddie Kagere scored the goal for Gor Mahia in the 9th minute. Rayon Sports then pushed hard and won two corner kicks and a free kick which yielded an equalizer on the 25th minute by Eric Rutanga.
In the second half the pitch was flooded after heavy downpour and both teams looked to be in poor form.
Egyptian referee Amin Mohamed Omar officiated at the game.
Young Africans of Tanzania in the same group will play against USM Alger of Algeria before quarter-finalists are decided.
The Rwandan team secured a place in the group stage of the last 16 when it beat Costa Do Sol of Mozambique in the play-off round in April while Gor Mahia beat South Africa's SuperSport United in the play-off.
