MINSK, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian national football team has risen by 14 positions in the updated FIFA world rankings released on Thursday.
In the March version of the rankings, Belarus placed on the 93rd. Thanks to two away victories in friendly matches over Azerbaijan (1-0) and Slovenia (2-0), the team now is occupying 79th place. Belarus has 410 points.
Belarus will hold its next matches in June. On June 6, the Belarusians will play against Hungary at home, and on June 9 they will visit Finland.
According to FIFA, Germany remains top of the rankings with 1533 points, followed by Brazil (1384), Belgium (1346), Portugal (1306) and Argentina (1254).
