SINGAPORE, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed up on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) wend up 1.14 percent or 39.7 points to close at 3516.23.
A total of 1.86 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.57 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.19 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 278 to 157.
The STI index closed down 0.33 percent or 11.35 points to close at 3476.53 on Tuesday.
