SINGAPORE, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Singapore Airshow 2018 came to an end on Sunday, attracting nearly 80,000 visitors during the two public days on the weekend, according to the airshow organizer Experia Events.
The organizer sent a release to media on Sunday evening, saying that the public-day visitors from across the world of different ages marveled at the spectacular aerial display performances and the latest commercial and military aircraft.
Singapore Airshow is a global marketplace and networking powerhouse for the world's aviation community, and ranks among the world's three largest shows of its kind. This year's airshow kicked off on Tuesday and attracted more than 1,000 exhibitors from 50 countries and regions worldwide, according to the organizer.
Experia Events said in its previous press release that the Singapore Airshow 2018 saw over 10 percent increase in trade visitors, as well as 287 VIP delegations. Over 70 percent of the exhibitors have committed to returning to Singapore Airshow 2020. But it had not yet disclosed how many deals were announced at the airshow this year.
"We are heartened to see the overwhelming support and interest in the sixth edition of the Singapore Airshow, as it draws in exhibitors and visitors alike from all around the world. This goes to show that Singapore is an aviation hub not only to the industry, but also aviation fans around the globe," said Leck Chet Lam, Managing Director of Experia Events.
