BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah announced reshuffle of the government on Tuesday afternoon in a special speech broadcast nationwide.

Six senior government ministers including Lim Jock Seng, Brunei's Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Mohammad Yasmin, Minister of Energy and Industry, were replaced.

Among the nine deputy ministerial level officials in the previous government, four including Deputy Defense Minister Abdul Aziz were replaced. Hassanal himself continued to serve as government ministers for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Defense and Finance.

Hassanal said in his speech that the new government should fulfill its duties and work hard for the country's development and the wellbeing of its people in the term of five years.

"The new government appointed by the Sultan has many new and young faces, which probably will bring new momentum for Brunei's national development," a media analyst said, who asked not to be named.
