HOHHOT, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- A record 569 freight trains traveled on the 15 China-Europe rail routes that passed through Erenhot in 2017, surpassing the total number for the previous four years, local authorities said Friday.
In 2017, 48,700 standard containers of goods, worth 2.6 billion U.S. dollars, were delivered by rail via Erenhot, the largest railway port between China and Mongolia.
Outbound cargo trains mainly carried household appliances, hardware and building materials, garments, communication devices, and toys, while inbound trains brought vehicle and aircraft parts, and engineering equipment.
