BUDAPEST, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese competitors continued their march on the fourth day of the 2018 ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) World Tour Hungarian Open here on Friday. Three Chinese men and four women advanced to the quarterfinals.
In the men's singles round of 16, Fan Zhendong beat Kirill Gerassimenko from Kazakhstan 4-1. Liu Dingshuo beat fellow compatriot Xu Chenhao 4-3, and Wang Chuqin ousted Chuang Chih-Yuan from Chinese Tapei 4-0.
In the women's singles round of 16, Chen Meng beat compatriot He Zhuojia 4-2, Chen Xingtong defeated Doo Hoi Kem from China's Hong Kong 4-1, while Wanf Manyu triumphed over Bernadette Szocs from Romania. Sun Yingsha secured a victory against Fu Yu from Portugal 4-3.
In the men's doubles semifinals, the Chinese duo of Fan Zhendong and Yu Ziyang beat German-Danish duo Patrick Franziska and Jonathan Groth 3-0 and made it to the final where they will meet Belarusian duo Pavel Platonov and Vladimir Samsonov on Sunday.
The women's doubles will see an all-Chinese final as Chen Xingtong and Sun Yingsha - after a 3-1 win over China's Hong Kong duo Doo Hoi Kem and Lee Ho Ching - will meet Chen Ke and Wang Manyu, who have made it to the final by securing a 3-0 win against Matilda Ekholm from Sweden and Georgina Pota of Hungary.
