ABUJA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed and nine others wounded in a road accident in northwest Nigeria on Monday, local police said.
The accident, which involved two vehicles, was due to overspeeding and loss of control along the Zaria-Kaduna expressway in the northern state of Kaduna, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps.
The injured have been taken to a local hospital for treatment, said Muktar Zubairu, a unit head of the road safety police.
Zubairu said further investigation of the incident was being conducted.
