BANGKOK, June 15 (Xinhua) -- About 9 million methamphetamine pills and 300 kg of crystal meths were seized in a drug bust in northern Thailand's Chiang Mai, Thai police announced on Friday.
Panatkit Soponphumpanya, a hill tribesman aged 43, was arrested on Monday along with assets worth 10 million baht (about 303,000 U.S. dollars), according to the police.
The police said the key suspect was trying to transfer methamphetamine pills and crystal meths from the Thai-Myanmar border in Chiang Mai province to central Thailand Ayutthaya.
Five suspects who were waiting to collect the drugs were also arrested in the haul.
The police said Panatkit had been wanted for a drug crime in 2010.
