TOKYO, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Thursday, snapping a three-day winning streak as investor sentiment was dented by reports the United States may impose trade tariffs on imports from China.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 227.77 points, or 0.99 percent, from Wednesday to close the day at 22,738.61.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 16.48 points, or 0.92 percent, to close at 1,783.89.
Pulp and paper, miscellaneous product, and glass and ceramic product-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play.
