TOKYO, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened mixed Friday as investors were in a circumspect mood after U.S. President Donald Trump's abrupt cancellation of the highly anticipated U.S.-Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) summit scheduled to take place in Singapore next month.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 26.29 points, or 0.12 percent, from Thursday to 22,463.30.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange edged down 0.71 points, or 0.04 percent, at 1,774.94.
Marine transportation, real estate, and mining stocks comprised notable decliners, while air transportation, glass and ceramics product, and food issues led those that advanced in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
